BMP to RTF Text Recognizer is a recognition application that uses OCR (optical character recognition) technology to recognize characters in BMP images.

In the left part of interface, the opened BMP image will be displayed. A simple operation sequence to recognize text in BMP image is as the follow.

  • Select File -> Open and open the input BMP image. The two alternative methods to open a BMP image are: drag and drop the image file to the application interface; click button and select the BMP image.
  • Set the image to the right orientation.
  • Select Command -> OCR and wait a while. The recognized text will be output to the text box on the right.
  • Edit the text if needed.
  • Select File -> Save or Save As, and choose the target file as txt to save as plain text file.

If you want to recognize other language characters, select Settings -> Download Language Data, and then choose the language package and download it. Before recognizing, choose the language in dropdown list OCR Language on the toolbar.
