Convert Excel to PDF with correct paper size

Hi Support,

I am evaluating your product doc2any.exe.  I tried to generate PDF and TIFF using -useprinter option.  The source Excel file is set up to print to A4 size.  However, no matter what I do, the doc2any.exe generates files in Letter-size dimension.  Is it a restriction in the evaluation copy?

Regards,

doc2any.exe does retrieve the paper size from input document automatically, maybe your XLS file is the Letter paper size, can you please email to us your sample XLS file in question? After we checked your sample XLS file, we will figure out a solution to you asap.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Per your request, I send you a couple of Excel files.  They are just an empty table having borders drawn.  They were generated by Excel 2003.  I also included the resulting PDF & TIFF files from each.  The attachment is in ZIP format.  Please change the extension from .zi_ to .zip.

I have tried following command line in my system just now, it can convert your XLS file to A4 PDF file correctly, please refer to the example PDF file in attachment,

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
C:\>E:\doc2any.exe -debug -useprinter D:\temp4\test.A4.xls\test2.A4.xls D:\temp4\test.A4.xls\test2.A4.pdf
Hm...  Interesting.  I used the same options as you did and was never successful.  I only have Office 2003 in my PC.  The only thing I can think of now is the version difference in Office.  Did you test the app generating various size of paper in a PC only having Office 2003?  And also did you try making a Letter size out of my test file instead of A4?  If you haven't, would you mind give them a try?
I guess it maybe caused by version of MS Excel 2003, MS Excel 2003 is always print the excel at Letter paper size, I'm remember some other customers encounter this problem in the past.
You may download docPrint Pro v5.0 from our website to try, docPrint Pro v5.0 can convert XLS file to PDF file too,
https://www.verypdf.com/artprint/index.html#dl
https://www.verypdf.com/artprint/docprint_pro_setup.exe
you can try to run following command line to convert your XLS file to A4 PDF file,
"C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v5.0\doc2pdf.exe" -f 9 -i C:\input.xls -o C:\output.pdf
"-f 9" is force to use A4 paper, we hoping this product will work fine to you.
Thank you for your response.  However, I have to ask a question.  Does the doc2pdf.exe in docPrint Pro v 5.0 generate TIFF images compressed in FAX 4?  What we need is TIFF not PDF.
=======================================
Yes, doc2pdf.exe in docPrint Pro v 5.0 can generate TIFF images which compressed in FAX 4, you can run following command line to convert a document to TIFF file,
"C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v5.0\doc2pdf.exe" -i C:\input.doc -o C:\output.tif -c 4 -b 1
Thank you so much.  You're very helpful.
I went to the site and checked the docPrint.  I found multiple editions in the application and what we need should be the SDK, because we want to convert Excel doc into TIFF on the server-side in php.  And I have a couple of questions:
1) Does the SDK edition provide the same functionality in the command line edition, namely Excel -> TIFF in FAX 4?
2) Does the SDK edition require the command line edition or would the DLL's under bin directory suffice?
>>1) Does the SDK edition provide the same functionality in the command line edition, namely Excel -> TIFF in FAX 4?
Yes, SDK version does support all functions which included in command line version.
>>2) Does the SDK edition require the command line edition or would the DLL's under bin directory suffice?
You need install docPrint Pro v5.0 to your system first, then you can call docPrint SDK from your code to convert Excel documents to TIFF files, please refer to following web page for more information,
