How to convert from emf to thumbnail format?

When you open a folder which contains a large number of images,Windows will display each file as a thumbnail.We all know that the smaller images do not need to be recalculated every time the user views the folder.So it can prevent intensive CPU processing and loading times.

This article will help you to convert an image of emf to thumbnail and you can follow the steps.

Step 1.Run cmd.exe in your computer.Please click “start” – “run”.Then input “cmd” in “open” edit box and click “OK” button.Please look at figure1.

Step2.You should know the directories of htmltools.exe and source emf file which should be inputted in the command line.If you don’t remember,you can open their location folders to have a look.Then you can input the commands in cmd.exe.Please look at figure2.

The commands are "C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Local Settings\Temp\htmltools\htmltools.exe" -xres 64 -yres 72 -width 100 -height 120 "C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Desktop\verypdf.emf" verypdf.jpg

"C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Local Settings\Temp\htmltools\htmltools.exe"   stands for the path of htmltools.exe.

-xres 64 -yres 72  stands for the resolution in X direction and Y direction which can be set as your will of the target file.

-width 100 -height 120  stands for the width and height of target file,of course,you can set them yourself.

"C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Desktop\verypdf.emf"  stands for the path of source emf file.

verypdf.jpg  stands for the target jpg file.

If you want to change to resolution or size of source file only,you can input the commands -xres value -yres value or -width value -height value only.

Then you can see the target jpg thumbnail file in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\admin.You also can compare the effect in resolution and size of source file and target file after convert emf to thumbnail.Please look at figure3 and figure4—changes in resolution.
