How to convert url to txt file?

Please don’t consider converting url to txt file as a hard task.If you use HTML Converter Command Line to help you,it will be a piece of cake.HTML Converter Command Line is a command line application of HTML Converter.Many people don’t like command line because it is a little boring to input so many DOS commands in a dialog box.But think it carefully,the command line only contains called program,source file and target file and if you use command line to convert url to txt,it will be no more than one minutes from beginning to end.

If you want to get the target file showed in Figure2 from the source file showed in Figure1,you should do like the following steps:

1.Download and install HTML Converter Command Line.

You can download HTML Converter Command Line at https://www.verypdf.com/htmltools/htmltools.zip. When just been downloaded to your computer,HTML Converter Command Line is a zip file and you need to unzip it to some suitable location.Then you will see an executable file in the folder called htmltools.exe which is the called program file in the conversion of url to txt file.You should register HTML Converter Command Line next in cmd.exe program with the register code which you get when purchasing the software online.Just press “Windows”+ “R” on the keyboard and input “cmd” in pop up dialog box,then click OK.Please change the current directory in cmd.exe dialog box to the installation directory with DOS command “cd” and input the register code.End with “Enter” button.Please see Figure3.

The called program in command line used to convert url to txt refers to htmltools.exe.The source file needs to be converted refers to some webpage and you can input the URL of webpage in command line.Then htmltools.exe will find the webpage via Internet and download the information on it to convert them to txt file.while the target file is the txt file.The basic structure is

htmltools.exe www.verypdf.com verypdf.txt

There is a command line example to explain the basic command line above.

"C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Local Settings\Temp\htmltools\htmltools.exe" www.verypdf.com verypdf.txt

"C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Local Settings\Temp\htmltools\htmltools.exe"  is the path of htmltools.exe.You can drag the file into cmd.exe dialog box directly.

www.verypdf.com  is the URL of webpage which you can input yourself.

verypdf.txt  is the name of target file.You can specify the directory of target file here such as C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Desktop\New Folder\verypdf.txt.

3.Find the target file in current directory

Because you didn’t set the directory for target file in command line,the file will be saved in current directory C:\Documents and Settings\admin.
