How to convert MS Office Word documents of doc to dib?

DIB is generic Windows or OS/2 bitmap graphic, which is similar to a .BMP file. But DIB file has different header information. It supports 1, 4, 8, and 24 bits per pixel if the image is uncompressed and 4 and 8 bits per pixel if the image uses RLE compression. Since DIB files are saved in a standard bitmap format, they can be opened by most image editing programs and image viewing applications.

You can use docPrint to convert doc to dib or docx to dib. If you don’t know what docPrint is, this article will give you a specific information about it.

You will be remind whether to set docPrint as your default printer at the end of the installation. If you convert files to files usually, please click “YES”, which will make your work more convenient.

  • Run the printer driver

You should run the printer driver at first. Please open word document and click “File” – “Print” to open “Save As” dialog box in which you can choose “docPrint” as current printer in “Name” combo box, please see Figure1. Then click “OK” button to run docPrint. If docPrint is the default printer, it will be easy. You can right click on the word document and choose “Print” option to directly run docPrint.

  • Open “Save As” dialog box

In popup “docPrint” dialog box showed in Figure2, you should choose one of the following methods to open “Save As” dialog box in which you can finish the whole conversion.

You can click “File” and click “Save as” in the dropdown list. You can also use the icon image  in the toolbar. The hot key “Ctrl”+ “S” is always a good idea recommended.

  • Save your target file

In “Save As” dialog box, you should follow the steps below one by one to complete the conversion of doc to dib. There are four things you should do, please see Figure3.

you should find a location for the target file in “Save in” combo box. Then input a suitable name for the target file in “File name” edit box. Please choose the file format for the target file in “Save as type” combo box. Then click “Save” button to complete run the conversion of doc to dib.

After several seconds, you can find the target file on your computer. If you want to browse the dib format file, you may need to change the extension name of it to .bmp.
