Convert documents of RTF to PDF and set PDF author by command line

There is an application named as Document Converter which supplies three internal applications for users to meet different needs. With the command line application of it, you can convert the document of rtf to pdf and set pdf author at the same time. The command line also supports to set other parameters for output PDF document such as title, page size, keywords, password, etc.

Before seeing how the command line application works, you should download the tool from https://www.verypdf.com/artprint/docprint_pro_setup.exe to your computer. Just set up it and you will see an executable file named as doc2pdf.exe in installation directory. It is the called program in the conversion from rtf to pdf.

Step1. Please open MS-DOS prompt window because the application is a MS-DOS oriented one. You should click “Start”—“Run” or use the combination “Window”+ “R” to open “Run” dialog box in which you can input “cmd” or “CMD” and click “OK” button to launch MS-DOS prompt window.

Step2. Please input the command line which is consisted of three four parts: called program which is the executable file doc2pdf.exe, parameter for setting pdf author, source file and target file. Just like the following example.

doc2pdf –a “Nancy” –i D:1.rtf –o D:1.pdf

In the command line,

doc2pdf stands for the called program.

–a “Nancy” is the parameter for setting pdf author as “Nancy”.

D:1.rtf following behind the option –i is the path of source file.

D:1.pdf following behind the option –o is the name of target file.

NOTE: When you write the command line, please remember to use the path of the file you use.

Step3. Please run the conversion from rtf to pdf by clicking “Enter” button and the target file will be saved in the location you have set in the command line.
