The description of PDF documents can be set when you create a new PDF document such as keywords, author, title, etc. When you convert the document of rtf to pdf, you can set PDF keywords for output PDF document with the help of the command line application of Document Converter.

There are three internal applications in Document Converter—GUI application, command line application and virtual printer application. The GUI application is suit for converting documents to images in batch because it has a friendly user interface which can be accepted by most people. The command line application can be used by software developers to develop their own applications. The virtual application is a good tool to save paper and ink for people who often print documents.

If you want to use the command line application, please download the free trial version of it at https://www.verypdf.com/artprint/docprint_pro_setup.exe. Then install it on your computer. Then the executable file doc2pdf.exe will be available at once.

Please see the following contents which are the introduction about the conversion from rtf to pdf.

The first step is to open MS-DOS interface for inputting the command line into it. You can use the hot key “Window”+ “R” to open “Run” dialog box in which you are able to input “cmd” in “Open” combo box and click “OK” button. If you want to use some other way, you can use the hot key “Window”+ “R” to open “Run” dialog box.

doc2pdf –k “rtf to pdf” –i C:\input.rtf –o C:\output.pdf

If you don’t understand the command line, you will need to see the following command line example which is the application to the template above.

"C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v5.0\doc2pdf.exe" –k “rtf to pdf” –i C:\input.rtf –o C:\output.pdf

Where

  • "C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v5.0\doc2pdf.exe" is the path of doc2pdf.exe which is the called program in the conversion.
  • –k “rtf to pdf” is the parameter for specifying the keyword of created PDF document as “rtf to pdf”.

  1. This software does not give me what everyone is looking for! You are talking about layers etc. but this software cannot export into PSD containing the layers of the cad file. So what is the point of using the software if autocad already has a pdf exporter inbuilt.

So what people really looking for is a software / printer which can export/convert into a psd retaining the layers of the autocad file – similar to the retaining layers function of the pdf exporter in acad.

    Thanks for nothing!!!

    2. Maybe you can have a try of this software, DWG to Vector Converter (http://www.verydoc.com/dwg-to-vector.html) to convert DWG file to PDF file first, then you can edit the PDF file directly in the Photoshop. As this software can convert DWG to PDF file retaining its original layer.
