Convert OpenOffice to fax by command line

By using the command line application doc2pdf.exe, you will be able to realize the conversion from the document of OpenOffice to fax easily and quickly. You can call doc2pdf.exe freely in MS-DOS interface. Please see the steps about converting the document of OpenOffice to fax. At the beginning of the conversion, you should open MS-DOS interface. There are two ways given below for your reference and you can choose any one of them.

  • Please click “Start”—“Run” to open “Run” dialog box. You should input “cmd” in “Open” combo box in “Run” dialog box and click “OK” button.
  • The hot key “Window”+ “R” will also help you open “Run” dialog box.

In the opened MS-DOS interface, you should  input your commands to convert the document of OpenOffice to fax. The command line includes called program, source file and target file. These three parameters combine the following command line template:

doc2pdf -i D:\AB\you.odg -o D:\CD\me.fax

According to the template, an example command line is given for your better understanding below:

"C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v5.0\doc2pdf.exe" -i "D:\ABC\you.odg" -o D:\CD\me.emf


  • "C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v5.0\doc2pdf.exe"stands for the path of doc2pdf.exe.
  • -i "D:\ABC\you.odg" stands for the path of source file. You should remember to add “-i” before the source file path.
  • -o D:\CD\me.emf is the path of target file. Also, “-o” can not be ignored.

Just hit “Enter” button on the keyboard to run the conversion from the document of OpenOffice to fax and you will see the target file displayed by the default program installed on your computer. To find the target file, you should remember the location you have set in the command line.
