Convert OpenOffice to PDF and set PDF title by command line

It is easy for the command line application doc2pdf.exe to convert the document of OpenOffice to PDF and set PDF title by command line and you just need to do three steps to finish the work. The command line application doc2pdf.exe is powerful enough for it can convert any printable documents to image formats and set parameters to the target file through the command line in conversion process.

Actually, doc2pdf.exe is the internal application of Document Converter which is an expert document converter designed for converting any printable documents to image formats. The three internal applications in Document Converter can be used by users to meet different needs.

The three applications are command line application which has been mentioned above, GUI application which is good at batch conversion and the virtual printer application which can be used to save paper and ink.

For converting the document of OpenOffice to PDF document and set PDF title, please do as follows:

The interface of MS-DOS must be opened at first. Please see the following two ways for opening MS-DOS interface.

  1. You can click “Start” to open the start menu in which you need to click “Run” for opening “Run” dialog box. Then please input “cmd” or “CMD” in “Open” combo box and click “OK” button.
  2. The other way to open “Run” dialog box is to use the hot key “Window”+ “R”.

Then please input the command line into MS-DOS interface. If you want to quickly convert the document of OpenOffice to PDF file with few mistakes, please refer to the following command line template:

doc2pdf.exe –t “my mother” C:\document-in.odt –o C:\document-out.pdf

From the template, you can see there are four parts in the command line—called program, parameter for setting PDF title, source file and target file.

The following command line example will be a good interpreter to the template above for you.

"C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v5.0\doc2pd.exe" –t “my mother” -i "C:\Documents and Settings\admin\document-in.odt" -o C:\document-out.pdf

In the command line,

  1. "C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v5.0\doc2pd.exe" is the path of doc2pdf.exe. You can copy the path and paste it in MS-DOS interface or drag the executable file into the command line window for obtaining the accurate file path.
  2. –t “my mother” means you have set the title of the PDF document as “my mother”
  3. -i "C:\Documents and Settings\admin\document-in.odt" stands for the path of source file.
  4. -o C:\document-out.pdf is the path of the target file.

For finishing the conversion from the document of OpenOffice to PDF, you need to click “Enter” button on the keyboard and you will be able to see the target file in the location you have set after the whole process.
