How to create PDF of specific pages by command line?

If you need to create PDF document from different kinds of document and specify pages for created PDF document, please use the application VeryPDF PDFPrint Command Line. This application is a MS-DOS oriented one and you can call it from other application or script.

This application does not need any other third-party application installed like PDF reader or processor. If you want to use it, you just need to free download VeryPDF PDFPrint Command Line and extract it to some location of local disk. In the unzipped file folder, the executable file pdfprint.exe is the called program for you to print PDF document.

In order to create the PDF document, please open MS-DOS interface and you can input the file path of pdfprint.exe into MS-DOS and hit Enter button on the keyboard to see the usage and options of this command line application. Then please follow the command template below to write your own commands:

pdfprint.exe [options] [Options] <PDF Files>

If you need to create specific pages PDF document, you will need to use the following options:

-firstpage <int>             : first page to print, from 1 to max page
-lastpage <int>              : last page to print, from 1 to max page

pdfprint.exe -firstpage -1 -lastpage -1 C:\lastpage.pdf

In the commands,

pdfprint.exe stands for the called program.
-firstpage –1 is the last page of input file. While –firstpage 1 is the first page of the file.
-lastpage –1 is the first page of input file.
C:\lastpage.pdf stands for the path of input file.

Before running the commands, please set a default printer installed on your computer. For example, if you set VeryPDF Document Printer (docPrint) which is able to print any printable document to PDF as the default printer on your computer, VeryPDF PDFPrint Command Line is able to print the input file to the default printer and then you can see the interface of the target printer and make settings to the created PDF document.

Of course, if the default printer of your computer is able to print PS format file only, the created target file format is PS format. In a word, the target file format is controlled by the default printer on your computer.
