Use embedded font to print PDF file

It is known to all that fonts in PDF file can be embedded. And we also meet those PDF files, whose fonts can not be copied or pasted. When do printing, there also will be a few problems. For solving this problem, VeryPDF developed software PDFprint which can be used to print PDF using embedded fonts. In the following part, I will show you how to use this software.

Step 1. Download PDFprint

  • This software is command line Windows application which can work under both 32-bit and 64-bit. Once downloading finishes, there will be a zip file. Please extract it to some folder then you can check the elements in it and find the executable file.
  • When you need to check whether fonts embedded or not, you can press ctr+D on the keyboard when you open PDF file in Adobe Reader and then go to Font tab. All the detail information will be shown there.

Step 2. Print PDF using embedded fonts

  • When print PDF, please refer to usage and help document. And please check whether printers have been connected or not. If the printer is not connected, there will be xps files output.

Usage:pdfprint.exe [options] [Options] <PDF Files>
Examples:
When you need to print PDF using embedded fonts, please refer to the following command line template.
pdfprint.exe –useembedfont C:\input.pdf
-useembedfont : when you use embedded fonts from PDF file to print it, please add this parameter.
However, when you need to print PDF using system fonts, please refer to the following command line template.
pdfprint.exe -winfont -winfont2 C:\input.pdf
-winfont  : use Windows fonts to instead of embedded fonts
-winfont2 : force to use Windows fonts to instead of all embedded fonts

If you are practicing printing job, the following parameters may be helpful for you.

-loaddevmode <string>: restore printer settings which saved by -savedevmode parameter
-promptdevmode        : prompt the user with print dialog and print the printer settings to screen
-devmode <string>    : restore printer settings which outputed by -promptdevmode parameter
-copies <int>                : set number of copies to print
-setcopyto                    : set '-copies' value to printer instead of print it several times
-paper <string>           : paper size to printer
    pdf    : retrieve paper size from PDF file
    number : standard paper size
    others : user defined paper size
