# Use -pclcmd arguments to control page orientation and paper size during PCL to PDF Conversion

Hello,

I am trying to create a pdf from a pcl file. I need to change the orientation of the output file and use the command line tool. I have not been able to get it to work thus far. Options tried… various combination including registration key, without, adding quotes. The product does not work the way your documentation shows it working with the "-pclcmd" argument.

pcltool.exe -pclcmd "\"-J@PJL SET PAPER=A4\" \"-J@PJL SET DEFAULT ORIENTATION = LANDSCAPE\"" C:\in.pcl C:\out.pdf

-$XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX -pclcmd "\"-J@PJL SET PAPER=A4\" \"-J@PJL SET DEFAULT ORIENTATION = LANDSCAPE\" C:\Summit\DRS\Reports1\MARPTM4S4290.pcl C:\Users\Desktop\Testing\Testing Output\MARPTM4S4290.pdf -pclcmd "\"-J@PJL SET PAPER=A4\" \"-J@PJL SET DEFAULT ORIENTATION = LANDSCAPE\" C:\Summit\DRS\Reports1\MARPTM4S4290.pcl C:\Users\Desktop\Testing\Testing Output\MARPTM4S4290.pdf -$ XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX -pclcmd "\"-J@PJL SET PAPER=A4\" \"-J@PJL SET DEFAULT ORIENTATION = LANDSCAPE\" "C:\Summit\DRS\Reports1\MARPTM4S4290.pcl" "C:\Users\Desktop\Testing\Testing Output\MARPTM4S4290.pdf"

I was not working here when the product was purchased. I am working on getting the order ID but in the meantime this is the file version info. If the command line arguments are different for versions can you point me in the direction of your documentation that corresponds to my version.

You may choose A3 paper to try again, for example,

please look at following PDF file, this PDF file was created by above command line, will this PDF file okay to you?
