PDF scans convert to JPEG instead of Word files

Recently, when we scan documents from our copy machine (as PDF) we then send them to the computer and usually use VeryPDF to convert them to Word docs.

However, in the last few weeks they convert but not into word docs but JPEGS. Or at least they behave like a JPEG. You cannot manipulate the text in any way.

Do we need to update our software or is there a glitch in the program. We have not had this problem before at all.

We are running Windows 7 on the pc and everything worked fine until the beginning of March. And then we have been unsuccessful in converting any pdf file to word.

Can you give some idea as to what we can do to correct this issue?

Thanks,
Customer
