I am looking at a third party tool which I can use in my application to convert the Image pdf's to searcheable pdf's.
To summarize, we have a windows application(built using VB.net) and an Intranet web application(asp.net, c#), users can upload documents using one of the above applications, these uploaded documents are stored in a database and then sent to the client when the package(set of documents) is complete.
I would like this conversion tool to convert the image based pdf to searcheable pdf at the time of upload, which means, the flow would be something like I have below.
User selects file to upload - if it is a image based pdf, tool takes this file and converts it to searchble pdf - application saves this searcheable pdf into the database.
let me know if you can send me sample applications(one windows and other web based) which can do the above. If we can do the above, we will certainly buy your product(IT dept) for use in our firm.

Can you send me a web sample of how this can be achieved in a web page? I am using visual studio 2008(ASP.net 3.5, C#) for development.
In your sample, if you provide the ability to upload a pdf file, detect it (to make sure it is image pdf), convert it to searcheable pdf, save it or send it back to the user.

Please look at attached C# example, you can use this C# example to convert normal PDF files to searchable PDF files.
However, our PDF OCR Compressor Toolkit (SDK) product hasn't a function to determine if a PDF file contain image only or not, if this function is important to you, we can develop this function to you at additional cost, please feel free to let us know if you are interest in this solution.
