How can I protect my file from printing?

   Files from the Internet and from other potentially unsafe locations can contain viruses, worms, or other kinds of malware, which can harm your computer, so the files in your compute are not safe. To protect your computer, files from these potentially unsafe locations, you should avoid the theft from all the ways; you can try to protect your IP location and your files themselves. Protect IP location is a little complicated, we should focus on the protection of the files themselves. Say you are free-lance journalist, writing charming articles is your aim. If you are too famous to be followed by some thief,it would be very dangerous. Once your work has been published by others, your efforts will go to waste.  I can introduce you a way to protect it.  You can take screenshots for  your manuscript then convert screenshots to PDF file. Set high level password and all kinds limitation for PDF one such as no printing then it will be much safer.  After conversion, you can save the manuscript to a removable disk, when you want to print and upload your file, the PDF one will be quite helpful.

Then  I will show you how to make it.

  • Download a software- Image2PDF https://www.verypdf.com/tif2pdf/tif2pdf.htm#dl   Image2PDF  is a converter which can convert all kind image files to PDF file. By it you can set many restrictive conditions for your file.
  • Enter then interface of Image2PDF and add the screenshots  to it. I will take a image for example.

  • As you want to protect this file in a higher level, please set it by clicking “setting” button then go to “Encrypt Options”. You will see the interface like the picture shows. There are two level and two kinds password options here, you can set it according to your own will. As you want to set the “No printing” right, please go to “Permission” part at the bottom of the menu label. If you like, you can choose all of them, then no one but you can change, print and copy your file.  If you have set the change permission password, you have to input it when you want to change those limitations.

  • If you have finish the setting, please click “Make PDF” to finish the conversion. It takes a few seconds to finish converting. Then when you check your PDF file, you will find all the limitations have been made successfully.
