Just by using the GUI application PDF Editor, you can add pdf annotation to make the contents in pdf document more clear and understandable. There is the corresponding function to add annotation to pdf document in PDF Editor, so you just need to follow the steps below to fulfill this job.
The free download link of the evaluation version of PDF Editor is https://www.verypdf.com/pdf-editor/pdfeditor_setup.exe. After downloading it, please install it on some disk of your computer and you can create a desktop icon for making your work more conveniently.
Please open the application via any one of the following given ways, of course you can use your own ideas:
- Double click the application icon if you can find the icon.
- Right click the icon and choose “Open” option in dropdown list.
- Click “Start”—“All Programs”—“VeryPDF PDF Editor v2.6”—“VeryPDF PDF Editor” if there is no application icon in your sight.
You will see the popup main window of PDF Editor. You need to input the pdf document into it now. Please choose one of the following ways:
- Click “File”—“Open” to open “Open” dialog box and choose the document which needs to add pdf annotation and click “OK” button.
- Click “Open” button in the toolbar to open “Open” dialog box.
- Use the shortcut key “Ctrl”+ “O” to open the same dialog box.
For adding pdf annotation, please click “Edit Comment” button in the toolbar or click “Tools”—“Edit Comment” to activate the comment toolbar. Then the four buttons framed in the red rectangle in Figure 1 will be available and please click “Add Note” button. A note icon will appear in the default place in document pane of PDF Editor.

You can change the position of the note icon by freely dragging it to any place according to your will. When double click the icon, the commenting window will pop up, in which you can edit the comments. You can also change the position of commenting window via dragging its title box. If you want to resize it, you can drag its folder or drag the dragging box in the lower right corner of commenting window. Click the blank of the window you can input your words. When you finish, please click close box or click anywhere outside the commenting window.
Please click “File”—“Save” or click “Save” button in the toolbar to save the changes you have made and click “File”—“Save as” to open “Save as” dialog box for creating the new pdf document. In “Save in” dropdown list, you can specify the output location, in “File name” edit box, you will be able to input the file name and then please click “Save” button. Please see it in Figure 2.
