Convert image to searchable PDF and edit PDF keywords

For editing PDF keywords when you convert image to searchable PDF document, you need to choose the application which can extract characters from the image and also able to convert these characters into PDF document, also able to set parameters for the target file.

You need to unzip the ZIP file to some location of your computer. Then the application is runnable at once. You need to open MS-DOS interface for inputting the command line into it. Please click “Start”—“Run” to open “Run” dialog box. Then please input “cmd” in “Open” combo box and click “OK” button.

The command line to be inputted into MS-DOS interface is like the following one:

img2pdf [options] <-o output> <images>

To apply the command line template, you can see the following command line examples:

img2pdf –x 1 –k keywords –o F:\TEST\1.pdf F:\TEST\1.bmp

img2pdf –x 1 –k keywords –o F:\*.pdf F:\*.bmp

The first example is to show you how to convert one image to one searchable PDF and the second one is to convert images to searchable PDF documents in batches.

The options in the command line:

–x 1 is for creating searchable PDF document.

–k keywords is to set PDF keywords as “keywords”.

Setting done the command line in MS-DOS interface, please hit “Enter” button to run the conversion from image to searchable PDF document.

Install Image to PDF OCR Converter on your computer. Then you need to open the application by clicking the application icon on your desktop. In the opened application interface, please add image into it. You can directly drag the image you need and drop it into the application file list.

Then please click “Setting” button for opening “PDF E-Book Maker-OCR Version” dialog box. Click “PDF Info” tab which is shown in Figure 1 to input PDF keywords in “Keywords” edit box and click “OCR” tab which is shown in Figure 2 to check “Use OCR” option. Then click “OK” button.

When you see main interface of the application again, please click “Make PDF” button. A floating item will pop up and please choose “convert selected 1 file into pdf file” option. In popup “Save as” dialog box, please specify output location in “Save in” dropdown list and input the name in “File name” edit box. Click “Save” button to run the conversion from image to searchable PDF document at last.

  1. May I know the parameter –k referring to the open password or the owner password? Is there limitations about the keyword length?

In addition, Image to PDF OCR Converter Command Line can not encrypt PDF document, but the GUI application Image to PDF OCR Converter can.
