Convert TGA to searchable PDF

There are two OCR applications of VeryPDF named as Image to PDF OCR Converter and Image to PDF OCR Converter Command Line. They are all for convert scanned image to searchable PDF document. The former one has a user-friendly interface which can be accepted to most of people. The later one is a command line application which is usually used by software developers to design there applications. How to make the conversion by Image to PDF OCR Converter?

You need to download the application at https://www.verypdf.com/app/image-to-pdf-ocr-converter/index.html and install it on your computer. If you want to use the application often, you’d better create a desktop icon for the application so that you can double click the icon to open the application anytime.

After launching the application, you can see its main interface which is shown in Figure 1. You can choose to set parameters for the added TGA image first or add file first. If you want to set parameters first, please click “Setting” button to open “PDF E-Book Maker-OCR Version” dialog box in which you can see several tabs in tab control panel. You need to click “OCR” tab and check “Use OCR” option. Then click “OK” button. For adding TGA image into the application, the most convenient way is to drag the file you need and drop it into the file list of the application directly.

When you see the interface of the application again, you need to save the target file and run the conversion from TGA to searchable PDF by clicking “Make PDF” button and choosing the option “convert selected 1 file into pdf file” to open “Save as” dialog box in which you need to choose the location and input the name for the target file in “Save in” dropdown list and “File name” edit box. Then click “Save” button.

How to make the conversion by Image to PDF OCR Converter Command Line?

You need to download the application at its homepage and then extract the ZIP file to some location of your computer. Then the application will be available at once and the executable file img2pdf.exe in extracted file is the called program in the conversion.

Please open MS-DOS interface at first. You need to click “Start”—“Run” to open “Run” dialog box in which please input “cmd” in “Open” combo box and click “OK” button.

The command line to be inputted into MS-DOS interface must be referred to the following given template:

img2pdf [options] <-o output> <images>

The following command line example is the application of the template:

img2pdf –d VeryPDF –x 1 -S optimizedocr=1 –o F:\B.pdf F:\A.tga

In the command line.

  1. img2pdf stands for the called program.
  2. –d VeryPDF is to set PDF creator as VeryPDF.
  3. –x 1 is to create searchable PDF with OCR technology.
  4. -S optimizedocr=1 stands for index optimized OCR
  5. –o F:\B.pdf is to specify the target file path.
  6. F:\A.tga is the path of input file.

Please press “Enter” button on your keyboard to run the conversion from TGA to searchable PDF and you can find the target file in specified location. To see more commands about the command line application, you can drag the executable file img2pdf.exe into MS-DOS interface and hit “Enter” button to see its usage.
