Question: I have so much work to creating PDF and upload to the servers. In this process I use some images to creating PDF. The PDF size is too large (3 MB) to download. It waste my time also. So, If anyone known how to solve this problem to decrease PDF file size into KB suggest me.If any free software to reduce this problem also suggest me. Is there any solution on VeryPDF?
Answer: On VeryPDF, there are many software which can help you decrease PDF file size. But if you need to use the free or cheaper software, please use VeryPDF cloud based application named VeryPDF PDF Compressor Cloud API. If you have API code, this software is totally free for you. Even if you do not have API code, you just need to spend less than 20$ then you can use this API or other API application free. By this cloud API PDF Compressor, you can decrease PDF file size by reducing image resolution, Downsampling or use some special method to decrease PDF file size. Please check more information of this software on homepage, in the following part, I will show you how to use this API to decrease PDF file size.
Open browser and input URL following example.
- When using VeryPDF cloud API, you do not need to install any third party application, simply open browser, input URL obeying rules of API then you can decrease PDF file size within browser.
- When you use this API, please note now this software can not process local file, please change local file to online PDF file.
- Here is a URL example for your reference:
By above URL, we can downsample all images to 20DPI and subset and compress fonts in PDF file. If all the PDF files are created from image file, please cancel the SubsetFonts&CompressFonts options.
Here are some parameters for your reference:
0= No Downsampling. No downsampling occurs.
1= Subsample. Subsampling chooses a pixel in the center of a sample group and replaces the entire group with that pixel at the specified resolution.
2= Average. Downsampling averages the pixel color in a sample group and replaces the entire group with an average of the pixel color at the specified resolution.
3= Bicubic. Downsampling occurs using a weighted average of the pixel color in a sample group and replaces the entire group with an average of the pixel color at the specified resolution. Bicubic downsampling is more precise, resulting in smoother gradations than Average and Subsample downsampling, yet is also the slowest process. Subsampling is the fastest sampling process, but can result in a less smooth and continuous image.
There are more options for decreasing PDF file size created from image, please check them on user manual. During the using, if you have any question, please contact us as soon as possible.
