I'm working on a c# application that needs to analyse a .spl file in order to get some information about print jobs, to be more specific, I would like to have Page-Level colour detection in spool files since such information is not present on windows spooler API.
Then I came across verypdf API, I download the trial version of Spool File Page Counter SDK and made some tests with C# and Visual Studio 2012.
It works fine with Windows Forms Applications or Console Applications, but when I try to use the SDK within a Windows Service project, It stops when analyzing the file.
I wonder if this behaviour is caused because I'm using the trial version and every time the SDK try to open the popup message it crashes because the service is trying to open a dialog.
My team is pretty near to acquire this SDK, but we need to have sure that it will work fine with Windows Service Applications.
Also, we would like to know how your support works, can I call you guys every time I have a doubt or problem with the SDK, could we request new features like getting more information from .spl file (document name, the application that started the job, user name, printer name and etc.)?

Yes, you are correct, the trial version does popup a message box, however, the Windows Service can't popup any message box, when you call the trial version of Spool File Page Counter SDK from a Windows Service, this message box will block the running, so Spool File Page Counter SDK will hang forever.
However, after you purchase the full version of Spool File Page Counter SDK, this trial message box will be suppressed, you will able to get it work from Windows Service without any problem, please don't worry about this matter.
