Need help on Image2PDF COM

Hi, I just purchased a server edition of your Image2PDF COM Component.

I don't know how I can use it with my .Net application?

I don't see any examples for the same.

Thanks
=======================================
Image2PDF COM Component does contain ASP and VBS examples, please refer
to ASP example in test.asp and testAppend.asp files, you can also refer
to VBS example at below,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Dim oTest
      dim very_ID
      dim ret
      Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
      strFolder = fso.GetParentFolderName(wscript.ScriptFullName)
      Set oTest = CreateObject("Image2PDFOCX.CImage2PDF")
      very_ID=oTest.VeryCreateEx(strFolder & "\testpdf.pdf")
      ret = oTest.VeryAddImageEx(very_ID, strFolder & "\01.tif")
      ret = oTest.VeryAddImageEx(very_ID, strFolder & "\02.tif")
      oTest.VeryCloseEx very_ID
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You can port from ASP and VBS examples to C# code easily, if you don't
know how to do, please feel free to let us know, we will create a C#
example project to you asap.

=============================================
It does contain examples, but I cannot find the dll that I can reference
(Image2PDFOCX)
I ran the bat file for making it work for asp, and all I see is pdfshell.dll.
Do I have to add reference to that in my project??
=============================================
Image2PDFOCX is included in Image2PDFOCX.dll, you can run following
command line to register it in your system,

regsvr32 Image2PDFOCX.dll

after you registered Image2PDFOCX.dll, you can add a reference to it in
your project easily.

VeryPDF
=============================================
We have purchased the PDF Toolkit (Professional version) Server License.

I don't see the dll you are mentioning "Image2PDFOCX.dll"

After I unzipped the product, all I see are the following dlls in the
bin directory:

Verywrite.dll, pdfx64,dll, pdfutil.dll, pdfshell.dll, pdfsdk.dll,
pdfpg.dll, encryptpdf.dll, cimage.dll

Where is "Image2PDFOCX.dll". Your home page says it's included in the
Toolkit, but I don't see it anywhere.

How to I register it with the License key you have provided with.

Am I missing something?

I really appreciate your help.
=====================================================
Sorry for confusion, "Image2PDFOCX.dll" is included in Image2PDF SDK
Server License, PDF Toolkit Pro SDK version doesn't contain
"Image2PDFOCX.dll".

In the PDF Toolkit Pro SDK product, you need register pdfshell.dll first
(with administrator privilege), then you can add a reference to
"pdfshell.shellexe" into your code, please refer to VB, VC, C#, ASP,
etc. examples in the PDF Toolkit Pro SDK package, if you encounter any
problem, please feel free to let us know, we will assist you asap.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

There's one last thing. I am able to successfully create PDF files using
"pdfshell.dll"

However, in the PDFs created, I see that it's superimposed with the
following text in red.

"Demo(http://www.verypdf.com> )"

Since we purchased the full License, this should not happen.
I was given a License key, but how do I use it?? There is no function in
pdfshell that allows me to set the License Key.

How do I set the Licnse key.

Below is the code snippet that I am using to create the PDF:
==============================================
Hi,

Please use following License Key to register PDF Editor Toolkit Pro SDK
product from your application,

VerySetLicenseKey "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"

Please refer to RED code line at below,

Public Sub CreatePDF()

reader = SqlHelper.ExecuteReader(ConfigurationManager.AppSettings("SQLServer"), CommandType.Text, strSQL)

Dim myPDF As New pdfshell.shellExe

myPDF.com_VerySetLicenseKey("XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX");

    fileName = "d:\temp\" & reader("ResultScanID") & "_" & ExamID & "_" & Right(NullToString(patientreader("NationalID")), 4) & ".pdf"

    pdfID = myPDF.com_VeryCreate(fileName)

    myPDF.com_VeryAddInfo(pdfID, "Medical Record", "", "Anderson KellyAssociates", "Employment Screening Physical", "Anderson Kelly
Associates")

    pdfRET = myPDF.com_VerySetFunction(pdfID, 105, 128, 1 + 2 + 4, "237tdgeig42dakdg", "password")

    Dim filePath As String = "\\gatekeeper\Data\Akis\Images\" & patientreader("MarinerID")
     & "\" & reader("ExamID") & "_Distribution.tif"

    If File.Exists(filePath) Then
            pdfRET = myPDF.com_VeryAddImage(pdfID, filePath)
    End If

    Do While reader.Read
            filePath = "\\gatekeeper\Data\Akis\Images\" &
      patientreader("MarinerID") & "\" & reader("ExamID") &
      "_Distribution.tif"

            If File.Exists(filePath) Then
                  pdfRET = myPDF.com_VeryAddImage(pdfID, filePath)
            End If
    Loop

    reader.Close()
    myPDF.com_VeryClose(pdfID)
    myPDF = Nothing
End Sub
VeryPDF
=============================================
When I use the following command I get an error message:

Error 46    'com_VerySetLicenseKey' is not a member of 'pdfshell.shellExe'.
==============================================

We have sent the latest version of pdfshell.dll to you just now, the latest version of pdfshell.dll does contain 'com_VerySetLicenseKey' function, you need re-register pdfshell.dll in your system, then you can call 'com_VerySetLicenseKey' function from your code.

Hi, I had another question. How do I merge PDFs? I am using the pdfshell
Com_VeryAddImage works for Tiffs, jpegs and gifs, but not for PDF files.
I want to be able to merge PDF files. How do I do that?

In the Examples (pdf-appending, Appendpdf) I see the following lines of
code:

'Set Temporary Directory

pdfObject.com_VerySetFunction 0,160,0,0,pdfFilePath,0

For j=0 to 10
      pdfObject.com_VerySetFunction 0, 200, 0, 0, FileName,
    pdfFilePath&"append.pdf"
Next

What are the codes 160 and 200?? I can't find it in the Reference Manual.

I used the above, but I am not able to merge the pdfs. Can you please
tell me how to merge 2 or more PDF Files.
==============================================
Hi,

#define Very_Set_Temporary_Folder 160
#define Very_AppendPDFFile         200

"160" is used to set the Temporary Directory to store Temporary files,
"200" is used to append lots of PDF files into one PDF file.

If you wish merge two PDF files to one PDF file, please run following
code,

      pdfObject.com_VerySetFunction 0, 200, 0, 0, "C:\\out.pdf", "C:\\1.pdf"
      pdfObject.com_VerySetFunction 0, 200, 0, 0, "C:\\out.pdf", "C:\\2.pdf"

VeryPDF

===========================================
When I use the following command, it always returns 0? No file is
created? I have the PDF Editor Toolkit Pro SDK. Can you please suggest
the correct/alternate way to merge PDFs?

  pdfID = myPDF.com_VerySetFunction(0, 200, 0, 0, fileName, filePath)
===========================================

Hi,

Please by following steps to merge your PDF files into one PDF file,

1. please register pdfshell.exe COM into your system first,

pdfshell.exe /regserver

2. you can run following code to merge your PDF files into one PDF file,

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dim oPDF
Dim outPDF
Dim outID
Dim bresult
Set oPDF = CreateObject("pdfshell2.shellexe")
outPDF = "C:\output.pdf"
oPDF.com_VerySetLicenseKey("XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX")
strMergeCommand = ""
strMergeCommand = strMergeCommand & """" & "D:\temp3\000170.pdf" & """ "
strMergeCommand = strMergeCommand & """" & "D:\temp3\example.pdf" & """ "
strMergeCommand = strMergeCommand & """" & "C:\out.pdf" & """"
MsgBox(strMergeCommand)
bresult = oPDF.com_VerySplitMergePDF(strMergeCommand)
MsgBox "com_VerySplitMergePDF() is return: " & CStr(bresult)
Convert Excel to PDF with correct paper size
Hi Support,
I am evaluating your product doc2any.exe.  I tried to generate PDF and TIFF using -useprinter option.  The source Excel file is set up to print to A4 size.  However, no matter what I do, the doc2any.exe generates files in Letter-size dimension.  Is it a restriction in the evaluation copy?
Regards,
===================================
doc2any.exe does retrieve the paper size from input document automatically, maybe your XLS file is the Letter paper size, can you please email to us your sample XLS file in question? After we checked your sample XLS file, we will figure out a solution to you asap.
VeryPDF
===================================
Thank you for your prompt response.
Per your request, I send you a couple of Excel files.  They are just an empty table having borders drawn.  They were generated by Excel 2003.  I also included the resulting PDF & TIFF files from each.  The attachment is in ZIP format.  Please change the extension from .zi_ to .zip.
===================================
I have tried following command line in my system just now, it can convert your XLS file to A4 PDF file correctly, please refer to the example PDF file in attachment,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
C:\>E:\doc2any.exe -debug -useprinter D:\temp4\test.A4.xls\test2.A4.xls D:\temp4\test.A4.xls\test2.A4.pdf

We are using Office 2007 application, what version of MS Office installed in your system?

VeryPDF
=====================================
Hm...  Interesting.  I used the same options as you did and was never successful.  I only have Office 2003 in my PC.  The only thing I can think of now is the version difference in Office.  Did you test the app generating various size of paper in a PC only having Office 2003?  And also did you try making a Letter size out of my test file instead of A4?  If you haven't, would you mind give them a try?
=====================================

I guess it maybe caused by version of MS Excel 2003, MS Excel 2003 is always print the excel at Letter paper size, I'm remember some other customers encounter this problem in the past.

You may download docPrint Pro v5.0 from our website to try, docPrint Pro v5.0 can convert XLS file to PDF file too,

http://www.verypdf.com/artprint/index.html#dl

http://www.verypdf.com/artprint/docprint_pro_setup.exe

you can try to run following command line to convert your XLS file to A4 PDF file,

"C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v5.0\doc2pdf.exe" -f 9 -i C:\input.xls -o C:\output.pdf

"-f 9" is force to use A4 paper, we hoping this product will work fine to you.

VeryPDF
=======================================
Thank you for your response.  However, I have to ask a question.  Does the doc2pdf.exe in docPrint Pro v 5.0 generate TIFF images compressed in FAX 4?  What we need is TIFF not PDF.
=======================================

Yes, doc2pdf.exe in docPrint Pro v 5.0 can generate TIFF images which compressed in FAX 4, you can run following command line to convert a document to TIFF file,

"C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v5.0\doc2pdf.exe" -i C:\input.doc -o C:\output.tif -c 4 -b 1

VeryPDF
=======================================
Thank you so much.  You're very helpful.

I went to the site and checked the docPrint.  I found multiple editions in the application and what we need should be the SDK, because we want to convert Excel doc into TIFF on the server-side in php.  And I have a couple of questions:

1) Does the SDK edition provide the same functionality in the command line edition, namely Excel -> TIFF in FAX 4?

2) Does the SDK edition require the command line edition or would the DLL's under bin directory suffice?
=======================================
>>1) Does the SDK edition provide the same functionality in the command line edition, namely Excel -> TIFF in FAX 4?

Yes, SDK version does support all functions which included in command line version.
>>2) Does the SDK edition require the command line edition or would the DLL's under bin directory suffice?

You need install docPrint Pro v5.0 to your system first, then you can call docPrint SDK from your code to convert Excel documents to TIFF files, please refer to following web page for more information,

http://www.verypdf.com/artprint/docprintsdk.htm

convert a jpf of a newspaper into a searchable pdf

I downloaded the trial version of VeryPDF's Image2PDF OCR software and tried to convert a jpf of a newspaper into a searchable pdf. Unfortunately, the pdf I got was only a warning that the version I downloaded was a trial and a request for purchase.  It did not convert the page - there's no way to evaluate this software without seeing that it converts pages and I won't purchase or recommend anything I can't see working.

Do you have a solution for this?

Thank you.
=====================================
Hi,

Can you please email to us your sample JPEG file and your Order ID (if you have)?
after we checked your sample JPEG file, we will figure out a solution to you shortly.

Please notice following issues,
1. You should use black and white TIFF files for OCR purpose,
2. You should scan your documents to black and white TIFF files at 200 or 300 DPI.
3. English documents, Image2PDF OCR product doesn't support other languages at the moment,

Image2PDF OCR will work great for black and white, 300DPI TIFF files.
