By using the GUI application VeryPDF Image to PDF OCR Converter or the command line application Image to PDF OCR Converter Command Line, you can all realize the conversion from image to searchable PDF document. At the same time, you can also set different parameters for the target file such as editing PDF subject.
By entering the homepage: https://www.verypdf.com/app/image-to-pdf-ocr-converter/index.html, you can download the free trial versions of the GUI and command line applications. For the GUI application, you need to install it on your computer by following the installation wizard. For the command line application, you just need to extract the downloaded ZIP file to some location of the disk.
When you use the GUI application and open it, you can see a user-friendly interface which can be accepted by most of people. You need to add the image file into it by clicking “File (F)”—“Add files” to open file picker window. Then please choose the image file from it and click “Open” button to add it into the application.
If you want to browse the added image, please click it in file list and then the preview of the image will appear in preview frame. If you have added a wrong file, please right click the file and choose “Delete Selected Items” option in popup floating item.
Then you need to click “Setting” button to open “PDF E-Book Maker-OCR Version” dialog box to set parameters for the target file. Please click “PDF Info” tab. Then input PDF Subject in “Subject” edit box for the PDF document. After that, please click “OCR” tab to check the option “Use OCR” and then click “OK” button. When you see the main interface of the application again, please right click the image file and choose “convert selected 1 file into pdf file” option in popup floating item. The dialog box “Save as” will come out, in which you can save your target file and run the conversion from image to searchable PDF document.
When you use command line application, you need to open MS-DOS command prompt window for Image to PDF OCR Converter Command Line is a MS-DOS oriented one. So please use the shortcut key “Window”+ “R” to open “Run” dialog box in which you need to input “cmd” in “Open” combo box and click “OK” button.
The command line to be inputted into MS-DOS command prompt window must be like the following one:
img2pdf [options] <-o output> <images>
img2pdf –x 1 –j technology –o E:\bb.pdf E:\aa.bmp
Where

img2pdf stands for the called program which is the executable file img2pdf.exe in extracted folder of the command line application.

–x 1 is to create searchable PDF document.

–j technology is to set PDF Subject as “technology”.

–o E:\bb.pdf is the path of target file which needs to be specified by yourself.

E:\aa.bmp is the path of source file.
Please don’t forget to use the full path of the file that you use in the command line. If you finish in inputting the command line, please hit “Enter” button to run the conversion from image to searchable PDF document.
