How to set Expiration Date to a PDF file?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if VeryPDF is able to enable/disable the access to a .pdf document from date/time "A" to date/time "B".
By access I mean to make it readable for the user only for a predefined period of time.
Then, the document should be removed.

Thank you for your prompt answer!

How to get more print job information from EMF/PDF/Image Virtual Printer Driver SDK for Windows?

Hi,

Thanks! for detailed information on our previous points.

We have some more question about the product "EMF/PDF/Image Virtual Printer Driver SDK for Windows".

https://veryutils.com/emf-pdf-image-virtual-printer-driver-sdk

image

1) How can we fetch print-job details, either while generating emf or while creating emf2pdf. Details like:
VirtualPrinterName;
ClientMachineName;
UserName;
IpAddress;
PrintJobName/PrintJobID;
We need this information to prepare document name.

2) We want to insert a logo image in the generated PDF. Any API for setting provided for that?

3) We tried to launch one of our custom application exe like below but it did not work. Can we get some help here?
[RunExeFrom-Emf2pdf]
PATH=MyDotNetApp.exe "%1" "Parameter1" "Parameter2" "Parameter3" "..."

4) How can I convert the output in PDF/A format. If any other extension required please suggest.

Thanks,

Sorry, "EMF/PDF/Image Virtual Printer Driver SDK for Windows" can not output these information in the current version, however, if these information are useful to you, we can develop a custom-build version of "EMF/PDF/Image Virtual Printer Driver SDK" to you, we will provide these information to you in this custom-build version, for example, we can export these information to a text file for all print jobs, so you can read these information from this text file easily.

>>2) We want to insert a logo image in the generated PDF. Any API for setting provided for that?

"EMF/PDF/Image Virtual Printer Driver SDK" hasn't PDF Stamping function, however, you can use "PDF Stamp Command Line" or "PDF Stamp SDK" to add image or text to PDF pages easily.

Please use full path to EXE file, for example,

[RunExeFrom-Emf2pdf]
PATH=D:\MyDotNetApp.exe "%1" "Parameter1" "Parameter2" "Parameter3" "..."

Please also remove "admin permission required" feature from your application, if your EXE application requires administrator privilege, it can't be launched properly.

You can use "VeryDOC PDF to PDF/A Converter Command Line" or "VeryDOC PDF to PDF/A Converter SDK" to convert a normal PDF file to PDF/A file, you may download the trial version from following web page to try,

Printing document from any windows application, converting it to PDF and store it in Database

Our use case: Printing document from any windows application, converting it to PDF and store it in Database.

We tried the trial product "EMF/PDF/Image Virtual Printer Driver SDK for Windows" which fulfils most of the functional requirements.

We need clarity on licensing. We have around 500 install base of one of our products in which this virtual printer is to be integrated. Which license type is required for this? Can you also provide a cost for renaming the printer or printer driver?

Can we have the virtual printer as shared printer in network and has an impact on licensing?

What is the form of support after purchase, i.e. upgrades/patches to support new OS and manages the vulnerabilities?

How to batch convert from colour PDF files to multiple page black and white TIFF files?

We have 1,000's of colour PDFs scanned at 300 dpi. Some have 100's of pages. We need to convert them all to multipage TIF's BW at 300DPI. I like your GUI program but even when I check the multiple page check box it still only converts one page from the PDF to a TIF. It looks great and it's fast but I need all the PDF pages to convert to a single TIF with multiple pages. Is there a way to do this or do I need to use the command line version and if so, what would the command line be to process multiple PDF's at once?

>>I like your GUI program but even when I check the multiple page check box it still only converts one page from the PDF to a TIF. It looks great and it's fast but I need all the PDF pages to convert to a single TIF with multiple pages.

This is a limitation in the trial version of PDF to Image Converter GUI software, after you buy it, enter your license key into PDF to Image Converter GUI software, the trial version will be changed to full version, then you can convert from multiple page PDF files to multiple page TIFF files easily.

>>Is there a way to do this or do I need to use the command line version and if so, what would the command line be to process multiple PDF's at once?

Yes, PDF to Image Converter Command Line software does able to convert from multiple page PDF files to multiple page TIFF files quickly, you may download the trial version of PDF to Image Converter Command Line from below web page to try,

https://www.verypdf.com/app/pdf-to-image-converter/try-and-buy.html#buy-cmd

You can run following command lines to convert from colour PDF files to multipage, black and white TIFF files,

pdf2img.exe -multipage -mono D:\in.pdf D:\out.tif
pdf2img.exe -multipage -dither 1 -mono D:\in.pdf D:\out.tif
pdf2img.exe -multipage -dither 0 -mono D:\in.pdf D:\out.tif

pdf2img.exe -multipage -xres 600 -yres 600 -mono D:\in.pdf D:\out.tif
pdf2img.exe -multipage -threshold 240 D:\in.pdf D:\out.tif

If you want to convert all PDF files in a folder and sub-folders to TIFF files recursively, you may try following command lines,

for %F in (D:\temp\*.pdf) do pdf2img.exe -multipage -mono "%F" "%~dpnF.tif"
for %F in (D:\temp\*.pdf) do pdf2img.exe -multipage -mono "%F" "%~F.tif"
for /r D:\temp %F in (*.pdf) do pdf2img.exe -multipage -mono "%F" "%~dpnF.tif"

If you want to use these command lines from a .bat file, you need use "%%" to instead of "%" character in these command lines, for example,

for %%F in (D:\temp\*.pdf) do pdf2img.exe -multipage -mono "%%F" "%%~dpnF.tif"
for %%F in (D:\temp\*.pdf) do pdf2img.exe -multipage -mono "%%F" "%%~F.tif"
for /r D:\temp %%F in (*.pdf) do pdf2img.exe -multipage -mono "%%F" "%%~dpnF.tif"

This is a screenshot of original colour PDF file,

This TIFF file was converted by "-threshold 240" option,

This TIFF file was converted by "-dither 1" option,

Dear Customer,

This problem is caused by something is wrong during PDF to Image Rendering process, however, we have updated the PDF to Image Render function in the latest version of "VeryPDF OCR to Any Converter Command Line" software, so you may download the latest version to try again.

As discussed with you over skype, we are getting the problem with OCR for some of our client TIFF files (Ocr is not happening and getting error as '[Error] Failed in OCRRecognize function') from last week. Please check this issue as a priority and provide the solution as our client is following us.

We are launching the application from windows service. Please find the attached log file.

Please let us know if you need any other information.

The "-grouppages 10" option in the previous version doesn't support for .TIFF format, however, we have enabled this function in the latest version, please download the latest version of ocr2any.exe from our website to try again,

Hi, First of all thanks for your valuable support/help for fixing all the issues.

However, still we are having an issue(Ocr2any.exe is crashing when converting the documents) which is pending from last week. Because of this our clients are having to click on Close program for every time the error pops up and because of this their work is getting disturbed, so they are stopping the service now. Please provide the fix for this issue or at least stop that crash popup.

We are launching the application from windows service. Please find the attached error message and log file.

"D:\VeryPDF\ocr2any.exe" -$ XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX -ocr2 -grouppages 50 -ocrmode 0 "D:\VeryPDF\OCRTemp\8282.JPG" "D:\VeryPDF\OCRTemp\8282.txt"

Please let us know if you need any other information.

Customer
----------------------------------------------
Hi,

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused to you, we noticed you are using "-grouppages 50" option in your command line,

"D:\VeryPDF\ocr2any.exe" -$ XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX -ocr2 -grouppages 50 -ocrmode 0 "D:\VeryPDF\OCRTemp\52a.pdf" "D:\VeryPDF\OCRTemp\52a.txt"

"-grouppages 50" option will read and OCR 50 pages at one time, because 50 pages will use lots of memory, it will increase the instability to the application, however, we suggest you may use "-grouppages 5" or "-grouppages 10" to try again, you can OCR 5 or 10 pages at one time, the less pages will use less memory and increase the stability, but this may also affect the conversion speed, you may test the different values and try to find out a balance between conversion speed and "non-crash issue".

In general, I suggest you may choose the "-grouppages 10" option, "-grouppages 10" will OCR 10 pages at one time, it will use less memory, you may use "-grouppages 10" option to try.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any problem with "-grouppages 10" option.

Thank you.
