What is XPM format file?
In fact, XPM format file is bitmap image used by the X Windows System which is a GUI used to run networked client-server computers. XPM supports monochrome, gray-scale, and color pixmap data. XPM stores pixmaps as static character arrays in the C programming language.
XPM is a kind of raster image files aiming to extend .XBM files. Both image types can be included with C program source code and compiled directly into applications with a C compiler.

How to convert AutoCAD to xpm with docPrint?
You can easily convert AutoCAD to xpm by print the document to docPrint. Here are steps for your reference.
Firstly, you should open the dwg file and click “File”—“Plot” to open “Plot-Model” dialog box. Then choose “docPrint” as your printer in “Name” combo box of “Printer/Plotter” group box and click “OK” button. If you don’t like this way to open the dialog box, you can also use the hot key “Ctrl”+ “P”.
Secondly, in popup “docPrint” dialog box, you will see many kinds of function icons in the toolbar which can realize different functions. But if you want to convert AutoCAD to xpm only, you can cut to the chase to open “Save As” dialog box here. Please see Figure1.

Thirdly, you should save your target file in “Save As” dialog box, which is also the last step of the conversion of AutoCAD to xpm. Please see Figure2.

- Please specify the directory for the target file in “Save in” combo box.
- Please name your target file in “File name” edit box.
- Please choose the right output format for the target file in “Save as type” combo box. Here you should select “XPM File(*.XPM)”.
- Please click “Save” button to run your conversion.
