What is base in the TextFileWithPosition.txt?

Hello,

In the TextFileWithPosition.txt file, what is the base= entry? What does it mean? I understand what the x and y are, but not base.

line: x=522.00..548.46 y=68.50..81.84 base=79.20 'MCC:'
line: x=22.50..155.35 y=87.57..95.94 base=94.20 'MERCHANT NAME '
line: x=310.50..366.71 y=87.57..95.94 base=94.20 'CORPORATE NAME'

Thank you!

Thanks for your message.

The "base" is font baseline. The baseline is the invisible line upon which letters rest. It's used as a point from which other elements are measured, such as line-height and x-height. A baseline grid refers to the vertical space between the baselines in a block of text; e.g. a 16 pixel baseline grid means there’s a baseline every 16 vertical pixels.

Thank you.

Kind regards.
