How to print SVG file to PDF file? Will PDF file still in vector format?

SVG, is short for scalable vector graphics, is a file format for describing vector graphics,both static and dynamic .SVG is a new format developed by the world wide web consortium.It is a family of specifications of an XML-based file format.SVG files can be searched,indexed,compressed,etc.The files can be used for illustrations in books, magazines, and articles, and are also used for other things like scalable icons,for example,the logo.

Many web browsers can view SVG files directly in the browser. Internet Explorer 9, Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera support SVG files.

Step3.Save and name the pdf file in “save as” dialog box.

A few seconds later,you will see a new pdf file.

Someone will ask will pdf file still be vector format after conversion? Now we can do a test.Just zoom in the pdf file in pdf reader.

Clearly,the pdf file is not a vector format anymore.Because the file has distorted.But what will be like if opening a svg by Google?

You can do the same work from step1 to step3 with opening the original file by Google.

You can see there’s no distortion in new pdf file,so it is vector format.

Then we can get the conclusion that whether the pdf file is still a vector format after the conversion of svg to pdf is depended on browser you open the original svg file.

How to change the note into another one when add it to a PDF file with VeryPDF PDF Editor?

We can add a note to a PDF file, in fact there are some note signs for choice, as we know when make Edit Comment active there are four options can be used, among which there is a note option, and when you click it, a note sign appears in the PDF file, next I teach you how to change the note into another one.

Open VeryPDF PDF Editor and add a PDF file to it, in the menu of the software find Document option, click it and choose PDF Annotation, by now a window pops out, the window contains ten categories, choose note category then in which you can choose one as the new note, thus when you add a note next, the note is the one that you choose in that window. Here I give an example.

Step 2: double-click the note, that means you choose it as your note sign from now on.

For Fax documents:

  • Type:Bitmap such as TIFF or PCX
  • Colors:black and white/color
  • Compression:RLE, CCITT Group 3, CCITT Group 4 etc..
  • Maximum Image Size:1728x2200 pixels (typical)

Still 1,4,8,24=Auto, are incremental on quality of bitmap image, which are image bit count.

How to print a pdf document using a command line?

Using command line to print documents is always helpful in batch process with scripts. VeryPDF PDFPrint is a smart program for printing pdf documents to physical or virtual printers in command line mode. This article is to introduce some basic usages of PDFPrint.

First of all, you need to download the package of the program at http://goo.gl/DV9Yz and extract the it into your preferred directory, for example, “D:\”. The new directory containing all the program elements will be created, and the executable file “pdfprint.exe” in the directory is for running in the MS-DOS command line mode.

Launch your MS-DOS command line prompt window and set the current directory to where PDFPrint is stored. A basic command line for using the program is

pdfprint.exe readme.pdf <Enter>,

where “pdfprint.exe” is the executable file and “readme.pdf” is the document to be printed. This command line will print the pdf document to the system default printer using all default settings. If you want to use other printer instead of the default one, you can use the following commands with “-prompt” option.

pdfprint.exe -prompt readme.pdf  <Enter>,

in which, “-prompt” option will start a “Print” dialog of choosing a printer as presented in the following snapshot.

In the dialog, you may choose another printer instead of the system default one in the “Name” dropdown list and set the properties of the printer via clicking the “Properties” button. The settings of “Print range” and “Copies” number in the dialog are also customizable using command line options.

“-firstpage” option sets the page number from which to print and “-lastpage” sets the page number at which to end the printing. The following two command lines are the examples:

pdfprint.exe readme.pdf -firstpage 2 <Enter>

will print the document of “readme.pdf” from page 2 to the last page,

pdfprint.exe readme.pdf -lastpage 2 <Enter>

will print the document of “readme.pdf” from the first page to page 2,

and

pdfprint.exe readme.pdf -firstpage 2 -lastpage 2 <Enter>

prints the document from page 2 to page 2, so only page 2 will be printed. The next snapshot presents the process of one of the  examples above.
