I downloaded a trial version of "Document Printer (docPrint)" and "Document Converter (docPrint Pro)".

https://www.verypdf.com/app/document-converter/try-and-buy.html

But I don't know the if the functionality I need is there or not.

what I found that "DocPrint Printer Redirection" can only redirect the job to one printer. (I like it a lot)

But what I want is redirect the print job to more that one printer.

What is the right software from me please advice?

Yes, "Docprint Printer Redirection" function is included in "Document Converter (docPrint Pro)" software, please look at following web pages for more information,

https://www.verypdf.com/wordpress/202202/about-your-printing-forwarding-technology-forward-print-jobs-to-another-printer-in-docprint-pro-software-46003.html

https://www.verypdf.com/wordpress/202008/how-can-i-capture-the-printed-documents-and-send-them-to-someone-by-email-or-store-them-to-a-server-45724.html

You can use "RedirectPrinter" or "ForwardPrinter" function in docPrint Pro v8.0 software.

With "RedirectPrinter" or "ForwardPrinter" function in docPrint Pro v8.0 software, you can print a document to docPrint virtual printer first, docPrint will save the print job to PDF, JPG, TIFF, PNG or other formats first, and then forward the print job to another printer continue.

After you install docPrint Pro v8.0 software, you can use "-forwardprinter" option to setup printing forwarding options, for example,

"C:\Program Files (x86)\docPrint Pro v8.0\artprint.exe" -forwardprinter

After you set the forwarding options, click "Save&Close" button to close the setting dialog, when an user print a document to docPrint, docPrint will process the print job first, and then redirect the print job to predefined printer (or associated printer) automatically.

Yes, "DocPrint Printer Redirection" can only redirect the print jobs to one printer, if you wish to redirect the print jobs to more printers, we suggest you may download and install a Virtual Printer software from this web page,

https://veryutils.com/pdf-virtual-printer

After you install it, you can modify "RunEXE" option in "config.ini" file, for example,

RunEXE-ShowWindow=0
RunEXE=<%APPFOLDER%\bin\RunAsUser.exe> <%APPFOLDER%\pdfprint_cmd\pdfprint.exe> -printer <Microsoft XPS Document Writer> <%FULL_FILENAME%>
RunEXE1-ShowWindow=0
RunEXE1=<%APPFOLDER%\bin\RunAsUser.exe> <%APPFOLDER%\pdfprint_cmd\pdfprint.exe> -printer <Printer2> <%FULL_FILENAME%>
RunEXE2-ShowWindow=0
RunEXE2=<%APPFOLDER%\bin\RunAsUser.exe> <%APPFOLDER%\pdfprint_cmd\pdfprint.exe> -printer <Printer3> <%FULL_FILENAME%>
RunEXE3-ShowWindow=0
RunEXE3=<%APPFOLDER%\bin\RunAsUser.exe> <%APPFOLDER%\pdfprint_cmd\pdfprint.exe> -printer <Printer4> <%FULL_FILENAME%>
RunEXE4-ShowWindow=0
RunEXE4=<%APPFOLDER%\bin\RunAsUser.exe> <%APPFOLDER%\pdfprint_cmd\pdfprint.exe> -printer <Printer5> <%FULL_FILENAME%>
RunEXE5-ShowWindow=0
RunEXE5=
RunEXE6-ShowWindow=0
RunEXE6=
RunEXE7-ShowWindow=0
RunEXE7=
RunEXE8-ShowWindow=0
RunEXE8=
RunEXE9-ShowWindow=0
RunEXE9=
RunEXE10-ShowWindow=0
RunEXE10=

You can use "RunEXE" option to redirect the print jobs to more printers, in theory, you can redirect the print jobs to unlimited printers.

You can install this Virtual PDF Printer into your system first, set the options to "config.ini" file, when you print a document to Virtual PDF Printer, this Virtual PDF Printer will redirect the print jobs to more printers automatically.

Can your software capture the information sent to the printer and save it to a file for later use (e.g. printing or viewing the data)?

Greetings,

I am interested in using HookPrinter software for a specific purpose and would appreciate your feedback. I have a dot-matrix printer connected to a scale that sends weight data to the printer at approximately 1-minute intervals. However, the printer frequently experiences issues and the customer wishes to discontinue its use.

I am wondering if your software can capture the data sent to the printer and save it to a file for later use, such as printing or viewing the data. I am also curious about how the software handles situations where data is not printed simultaneously. For example, if the scale sends data as follows:

2023-03-29 17:48 45000
2023-03-29 17:49 43250
2023-03-29 17:50 44650
2023-03-29 17:51 43000
2023-03-29 17:52 42330

with each line sent one minute apart. How is this information stored? Can the software aggregate it into one file, making it possible to view or print all of the lines together?

Finally, does the software run as a service to ensure it is always running?

I appreciate any information you can provide on these questions.

Sincerely,
Customer

Dear Customer,

Thank you for providing us with detailed information. We have a demo version that may be suitable for your needs. To try it out, you can download the demo version from the following webpage:

Solution #1: Using "VeryPDF HookPrinter Print Logger"

https://veryutils.com/hookprinter-print-logger
https://veryutils.com/dl.php/VeryPDF-HookPrinter-Logger.exe

This software can be installed on your printer server. Once installed, it will capture print jobs from both remote and local systems, convert them to PDF files, and send them to the VeryPDF server. If you decide to purchase the software, you can also store the print jobs on your own server. You can view a demo of the print report on the following webpage:

http://online.verypdf.com/app/hookprinter

If the first solution does not work for you, we have another option available:

Solution #2: Using a Virtual Printer as an Intermediary

This solution involves installing a virtual printer on your system and renaming your POS printer to another name, such as "Final-Printer." The virtual printer will be named as the original name of the POS printer and will be shared with Android, iOS, Mac, and Windows clients on your local network. When you print a document from any of these clients, the virtual printer will convert the print jobs to text contents, insert them into a database, and then forward the print jobs to "Final-Printer."

https://www.verypdf.com/wordpress/202303/introducing-verypdf-dummy-network-shared-printer-solution-46670.html

The steps of use a Dummy Virtual Printer as an intermediary,
1. We will install a Virtual Printer into your system,
2. Rename your POS Printer to another name, such as "Final-Printer",
3. Rename Virtual Printer to original name of POS Printer,
4. Share Virtual Printer to Android, iOS, Mac, Windows, etc. clients in local network,
5. When you print a document from Android, iOS, Mac, Windows, etc. clients to this Virtual Printer, this Virtual Printer will convert print jobs to text contents, insert into database, and then forward the print jobs to "Final-Printer" continue,
6. OK.

If the first solution does not work, we are confident that the second solution will meet your requirements.

Best regards,
VeryPDF

Batch attach OCRed text layer to original PDF file using VeryPDF OCR to Any Converter Command Line application

VeryPDF Support Team,

I received this software last Friday and have been unsuccessful in using this function "Attach OCRed text layer to original PDF file",

The command I'm using is:

C:\Temp\Test\ocr2any.exe -ocr -ocrmode 1 a.pdf _test\_a.pdf

This does not work and the resultant PDF does not contain OCR data.

Can you provide the proper command?

Any PDF I use is the same, no OCR after using the command I provided. Can you provide the solution without an example PDF?

Thank you,
Customer
---------------------------------------

image
Please download the latest version of ocr2any.exe from following URL to try again,

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Can you work fine with this version?

VeryPDF
---------------------------------------
Thank you. This version does work. I can now perform OCR on a scanned pdf, but the application always want to create a new file. How can I perform OCR on an existing scanned PDF and add the invisible text layer to the original document. I want to overwrite the original PDF. I have close to 500,000 scanned pdfs in nested directories.

Maybe something like this:

for /r D:\temp %F in (*.pdf) do ocr2any.exe -ocr -ocrmode 1 "%F" "%~dpnF.pdf"

Thank you,
Customer
---------------------------------------
Thank you for your message. If you'd like to set the output filename the same as the input filename, you can use the following command:

for /r D:\temp %F in (*.pdf) do ocr2any.exe -ocr -ocrmode 1 "%F" "%F"

Please note that this method can be very dangerous, as it may damage your input PDF file if something goes wrong during the OCR process. Therefore, I strongly recommend that you output the converted files to a different folder. Once the conversion is complete, please double-check the PDF files in the output folder to ensure that everything is correct. If everything looks good, you can delete the old folder, rename the new folder to the old folder name, and you should be all set.

VeryPDF
---------------------------------------
Thank you.

I understand the danger of saving over original files. The PDFs I'm working with are not the originals.

In fact, the command line that you provided does not overwrite the original file. Using the provided command below deletes the file.

for /r D:temp %F in (*.pdf) do ocr2any.exe -ocr -ocrmode 1 "%F" "%F"

Here are the results of my test :

After running the command, the file(s) disappear.

Can you please provide a solution that actually overwrites the original with a PDF with OCR text embedded?

Thank you,
Customer
---------------------------------------
Thanks for your message, you can run multiple command lines in batch, for example,

for /r D:\temp %F in (*.pdf) do (
ocr2any.exe -ocr -ocrmode 1 "%F" "%~dpnF-temp.pdf"
del "%F"
copy "%~dpnF-temp.pdf" "%F"
del "%~dpnF-temp.pdf"
)

The first command line will output to a temporary file, the following 3 command lines will delete original PDF file, copy temporary file to original PDF file, and delete temporary file, so you may run this batch command lines to try again.

VeryPDF
---------------------------------------
Thank you, I got this working. There is a slight difference between running the commands in the CLI versus using a batch. In the batch file you have to use %% for variables instead of %.

So this worked for me:

for /r "C:\Temp\Test" %%F in (*.pdf) do (ocr2any.exe -ocr -ocrmode 1 "%%F" "%%~dpnF-temp.pdf"
del "%%F"
copy "%%~dpnF-temp.pdf" "%%F"
del "%%~dpnF-temp.pdf")

I also added " around the original path in case there were spaces in the path.

Thanks again for your help, you can close this ticket.

Regards,
Customer
---------------------------------------
Thanks for your message, yes, when you put this command line into a .bat file, you need to use %% to instead of % symbol.

If we can be of any other assistance, please feel free to let us know.

pcl converter

How to convert PCL with barcodes to PDF using Barcode TrueType Font file?

Hi,

I am interested to buy your solution to convert pcl to pdf (we will need the server version), but the 2.6 trial version cannot convert my barcode escape codes like it is mentioned in

https://www.verypdf.com/app/pcl-converter/convert-pcl-to-pdf-with-barcode.html

I read that version 3.0 has a fix to be able to use the path of the font :

https://www.verypdf.com/wordpress/201701/pcl-to-pdf-converter-and-barcodes-43183.html

Is there a trial version available to test if this works?
