How to convert files of AutoCAD to avs?

1. Run the printer driver

You can open the dwg file in your computer and click “File” – “Plot” to open “Plot-Model” dialog box showed in Figure1. Then choose “docPrint” in “Name” combo box of “Printer/Plotter” group box and click “OK” button. The hot key “Ctrl”+ “P” is also a quick way to open the same dialog box, which is recommended.

If docPrint is the default printer in your computer, you can right click the dwg file and click “Print” option to skip opening the file and “Plot-Model” dialog box, which will help you save a lot of time.

2.Try to open “Save As” dialog box.

In “docPrint” dialog box showed in Figure2, you can click “File” and click “Save as” in dropdown list to open “Save as” dialog box. You can also click the “Save” icon image  in the toolbar, which seems like a floppy disk. The quick way—hot key “Ctrl”+ “S” will work all the same.

Step3. Save target file.

The following operations must be done in “Save As” dialog box showed in Figure3.In “Save in” combo box, you can choose the location for your target file; In “File name” edit box, you can input a suitable name for the target file; In “Save as type” combo box, you should choose the output format for the target file. For example, you want to convert “AutoCAD to avs”, you should select “AVS File (*.AVS)” as the output format. Then you can click “Save” button to run the conversion of AutoCAD to avs.

You will find the conversion speed is fast, which will cost no more than 10 seconds. Of course, the speed depends on the file size, also the computer configuration.
