Convert OpenOffice to PDF and set PDF subject by command line

When you convert the document of OpenOffice to PDF file, you can also set PDF subject in the conversion process. You just need to choose a suitable application which can do this work for you. You can use the command line application of Document Converter which is named as doc2pdf.exe. The command line application allows you to convert any printable documents to image formats.

You should open MS-DOS command line window at first. You can click “Start”—“Run” to open “Run” dialog box and input “cmd” in “Open” combo box of “Run” dialog box. Then please click “OK” button. You can also use the hot key “Window”+ “R” to open “Run” dialog box and do the same work next.

The most important part of the conversion is to input the command line into MS-DOS command line window. The command line includes called program, parameter for setting PDF subject, source file and target file. These parameters make up the following command line basic template.

doc2pdf –j “nature” –i C:\test2.odg –o C:\test2.pdf 

Please see the following command line example which is the application of the basic template above for your better understanding.

"C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v5.0\doc2pd.exe" –j “nature” -i "C:\test2.odg" -o C:\test2.pdf

Where

  • "C:\Program Files\docPrint Pro v5.0\doc2pd.exe" indicates the path of doc2pdf.exe.
  • –j “nature” stands for the parameter for setting PDF subject and you have specified the subject as “nature”.
  • –i C:\test2.odg is the path of source file. The paths of called program and source file can all be copied and pasted into the command line window. You can also drag the file you need into the file and they will turn to file paths instantly.
  • –o C:\test2.pdf is the path of target file, which you must specify yourself.

Just hit the “Enter” button on your keyboard to finish the conversion from the document of OpenOffice to PDF. If you want to see the new subject information about the target PDF document, please find the file in the specified location and right click the file to see its property.
